The Baltimore Medical System was the victim of a ransomware attack.

The Brain Cipher ransomware group claims to have stolen several terabytes of data from Baltimore Medical System (BMS), which serves around 90,000 patients. The data, now leaked on the dark web, likely includes sensitive medical records, backups, and user information, posing risks of identity theft and blackmail. BMS appears to have refused ransom demands, prompting the public release of the data. Brain Cipher, a relatively new group using LockBit-based malware, has already targeted over 30 organizations since mid-2024.
