China’s Huawei claims it faces 1 million cyberattacks per day

Chinese tech giant Huawei is the target of about 1 million cyberattacks per day, Senior Vice President John Suffolk recently stated. The attacks allegedly aim to steal Huawei’s 5G technology, but so far they have only impacted several old systems. The source of the attacks is unknown. Last month, the company accused the US government of orchestrating a cyber campaign targeting the firm in order to “infiltrate Huawei’s intranet and internal information systems.”

Earlier this year, the Trump signed an executive order allowing his administration to ban Huawei over security concerns. The US government argues that Huawei’s 5G products pose a threat to national security because they could be used by the company to provide the Chinese government with access to the data and systems of foreign governments. Huawei has denied these allegations.
