A Chinese-speaking hacker launched a five-day hacking spree using Agentic AI powered by Anthropic’s Claude, DeepSeek, and Moonshot AI. These agents targeted more than 100 companies and were mainly tasked with stealing user credit card details. Most of the companies the Agentic AI targeted were from retail, hospitality and health care. The total cost of deploying these Agents worked out $8000 for the hacker, but the impact of this hacking campaign is yet to be measured. Security analysts say the hacks could have resulted in the hacker exfiltrating credit card details of nearly 600,000 users.
