CISA, the U.S. government’s cybersecurity agency, has stated that its stance has not changed towards detecting and disrupting Russian cyber actors. The announcement follows a recent directive from the Trump administration pausing offensive cyber operations against Russia. The decision was intended to ensure that Russia-Ukraine negotiations were not derailed. The decision to halt offensive cyber actions has resulted in debate over American critical infrastructure being left exposed.
