A new survey by IPSOS Mori, the Internet Society and Consumers International shows that while most people (69%) own connected devices, many dislike them from a privacy point of view.
About two-thirds (65%) of people are worried about the data collection practices of connected devices and a small minority believe these devices do not protect their privacy (55%) and handle their data in an inappropriate manner (53%). The vast majority of consumers believe that the security and privacy of devices that make up the Internet of things (IoT) are the responsibility of regulators (88%), manufacturers (81%) and retailers (80%).
