Microsoft’s offensive security team is warning of a critical vulnerability in some Canon printer drivers. The vulnerability could allow for the execution of arbitrary code or for an attacker to prevent printing. These types of zero-days can be a serious risk to users and organizations, and threat actors often exploit vulnerable drivers in attacks. Canon also published advisories notifying customers of other printer vulnerabilities recently, potentially allowing remote code execution or DoS attacks.
