Customer Service Firm 5CA Denies Responsibility for Discord Data Breach

5CA has denied any responsibility for the Discord Data Breach.

Discord recently disclosed a data breach linked to a third-party customer service provider, initially identifying 5CA as the source, though 5CA denies involvement and claims its systems remain secure. The breach exposed user data including names, emails, IP addresses, billing details, messages, and a limited number of government ID images, though Discord insists only 70,000 IDs were compromised. 5CA suggests the incident may have stemmed from human error outside its systems and notes that it does not handle government IDs for Discord. The attack, reportedly targeting a Zendesk instance, was claimed by hackers attempting to extort Discord, but the company appears unwilling to comply.
