DDoS Attacks Surge as Africa Expands Its Digital Footprint 

As African organizations expand their digital footprints, they are simultaneously facing increased threats that the region hasn’t had to deal with in the past. These new threats include increases in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. New data is showing a 30% increase in DDoS attacks in the Middle East and Africa from late 2023 to early 2024. The highest targeted attacks were Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. Organizations in Africa must work to counter these threats that other entities have been dealing with for years.
