‘Elusive Comet’ Attackers Use Zoom to Swindle Victims 

Elusive Comet, a new hacking group, is using social engineering through Zoom to target cryptocurrency users. The campaign is being tracked by researchers at the Open Security Alliance. The attackers trick their victims into installing malware on their computers, enabling them to steal the victim’s cryptocurrency once they gain access to the device. The group is behind the losses of millions of stolen funds. Elusive Comet uses a strong online presence to dupe victims, keeping up with social media profiles posing as real entities, such as venture capital firms.
