The European Commission has confirmed it was the victim of a cyber attack.

The European Commission confirmed a cyberattack on cloud infrastructure hosting parts of its Europa.eu web presence, with early findings indicating data theft. The ShinyHunters group claimed responsibility, alleging they stole over 350GB of emails, databases, and confidential documents. AWS stated its systems were not breached, suggesting attackers exploited a compromised account or misconfiguration. This marks the second EC breach this year, following a February incident where intruders may have accessed staff personal information.
