Ford Says Blames Third-Party Supplier for Data Breach

After claims of a recent data breach, Ford has completed its investigation into the incident. Ford determined that neither its systems nor its customer data were compromised. On November 17, hackers IntelBroker and EnergyWeaponUser claimed on a cybercrime forum that they had obtained the records of 44,000 Ford customers. These records supposedly included names and addresses. The data posted by the hackers only contained car dealer addresses around the world, information that is already public. Ford confirmed after investigation that this leaked information came from a third-party supplier. Ford’s systems and customer data were not breached.
