Google has blocked several hundred websites linked to pro-China PR firms that is said violated its policies related to inauthentic content. Google said the network aimed to appear as independent outlets, and that they mostly republished content from Chinese state media. The network also targeted its content at users from the United States Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Vietnam and other countries. Google has warned that other countries such as Iran and Russia have likely created similar operations.
