Google Patches First Actively Exploited Chrome Zero-Day of 2026

Google has released a patch for a zero day exploit of Chrome.

Google released an emergency update to fix CVE‑2026‑2441, a high‑severity use‑after‑free flaw in Chrome’s CSS component. The vulnerability was reported on February 11 and patched within two days, with evidence showing it was already exploited in the wild. While the exploit can enable arbitrary code execution, attackers would need an additional vulnerability to escape Chrome’s sandbox for full system compromise. Google advises all users to update immediately as the flaw could be used to steal data, hijack sessions, or launch further attacks.
