Google will acquire Wiz, a major cloud security vendor known for its Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) platform, for $32 billion in an all-cash deal. Wiz will become a part of Google Cloud. Wiz is known for its “multicloud” approach, in which its security platform works across a wide range of cloud products, such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Google Cloud CEO said the combination of Google and Wiz “will help spur the adoption of multicloud cybersecurity, the use of multicloud, and competition and growth in cloud computing.” Google and Wiz anticipate the deal to close next year.
