Sotheby’s disclosed a data breach that it discovered on July 24th.
On July 24th, Sotheby’s discovered that hackers had stolen sensitive data including information such as name, SSN, and financial account data. The affected people, the number of which is currently unknown, have been offered 12 months of free credit monitoring services from Sotheby’s. It is unknown if the affected people are employees or customers. It is also unknown if Sotheby’s was targeted by a randomware attack, but no known ransomware group has taken credit.
