Google Threat Intelligence Group reports that global defense organizations face escalating cyber threats from state‑sponsored actors in Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, as well as hacktivists and cybercriminal groups. These attackers are conducting espionage, ransomware operations, DDoS attacks, and social engineering campaigns across aerospace, defense contractors, and supply‑chain partners. China‑linked groups often exploit zero‑days and edge devices for long-term infiltration, while Russian groups target battlefield‑adjacent technologies like drones. Additional threats include North Korean groups infiltrating defense firms and Iranian operations using fake recruitment portals to deliver malware.
