Hertz data breach: Customers in US, EU, UK, Australia and Canada affected

Hertz, an American car rental company, has suffered a data breach from a ransomware attack last year. The ransomware group had exploited zero-day vulnerabilities in Cleo, a vendor providing a file transfer platform used by Hertz. The number of customers impacted by the attack is still unknown, but Hertz operates in over 160 countries around the world. Published notices thus far have been aimed at U.S., E.U., Canada, UK, and Australia customers. Among the compromised information is Social Security, passport, driver’s license, and credit card information.
