Kelly Benefits, a benefits administrator, broker, and payroll solutions provider, has disclosed the scale of its recently disclosed data breach. The impact of the hack is much larger than was originally believed, and now is known to have impacted 400,000 individuals. Attackers were able to access personal information, including Social Security numbers, tax ID numbers, and health insurance information. Kelly Benefits had originally told impacted people that the company’s review of stolen files was completed back in early March, but the number of people impacted by the incident continues to grow. It is not yet clear whether the incident was a ransomware attack.
