T-Mobile along with AT&T, Verizon, Lumen Technologies and other companies were breached by a large scale China-linked cyberattack. The Salt Typhoon ATP has been linked to the attack. Initial investigations indicate that the group was able to tap into the telecommunications system and listen to private phone calls.
