A cyberattack on servers operated by Arara Message, a subsidiary of IT services firm Paycloud Holdings, resulted in the exposure of approximately 77 million email addresses. The breach affected up to 380 corporate clients utilizing the email service, revealing names, phone numbers, and home addresses depending on the specific company. Hackers exploited the compromised subsidiary service to send out nearly 7.13 million fraudulent messages impersonating credit card companies. In a separate incident, beverage and foods giant Suntory Holdings reported that an unauthorized intrusion into an external cloud service leaked personal data belonging to roughly 100,000 employees and customers. These disclosures compound a surging wave of security compromises across Japan, prompting intense public and regulatory pressure on businesses to upgrade their cybersecurity postures.
