Meta has begun a large scale crack down on accounts linked to pig-butchering.

Meta has announced that is has taken down millions of accounts linked to pig-butchering. Pig-butchering refers to the tactic of building up a relationship with a victim over time and gradually defrauding them. Pig-butchering accounts are typically run by criminal organization that force kidnapped individuals to run accounts. As part of the crackdown Meta also released an extended explanation of its strategy for combating pig-butchering to help promote best practices in the industry.
