Microsoft is introducing Windows Baseline Security Mode, which will enable runtime integrity safeguards by default to ensure only properly signed software can run, reducing tampering risks. Users and IT administrators can override these safeguards when necessary, and developers can check whether protections or exceptions are active. The update is part of Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative and pairs with new User Transparency and Consent prompts that notify users when apps access sensitive resources.
