Microsoft to Preview New Windows Endpoint Security Platform After CrowdStrike Outage

In response to the 2024 crash caused by a faulty CrowdStrike update, Microsoft has advanced its Windows Resiliency Initiative to prevent future disruptions linked to kernel-level security tools. The company is introducing a new endpoint security model that allows antivirus and EDR software to run outside the operating system kernel, reducing system-wide risks. Alongside this, Microsoft detailed additional stability features aimed at strengthening the platform’s reliability and response capabilities.
