North Korean Hackers Take Over Victims’ Systems Using Zoom Meeting

Researchers link deepfake Zoom hacks to the North Korean group BlueNoroff.

Security firms say North Korea’s BlueNoroff group is behind a wave of social engineering attacks using fake Zoom calls and deepfake avatars to trick victims into running malware. Targets included employees in the gambling and cryptocurrency sectors, who were coaxed into downloading malicious scripts disguised as audio fixes. Analysts traced over 200 related domains, suggesting a broad campaign aimed at credential theft and data exfiltration.
