Malicious actors tied to North Korea have been discovered embedding malware into Flutter applications. This is the first time an adversary has used this tactic to infect Apple macOS devices. These Flutter applications are part of a larger trend of activity which includes Golang and Python-written malware. Researchers do not yet know if this new tactic has been used against any targets. However, North Korean threat actors have been known to participate in social engineering to target cryptocurrency and decentralized finance employees. The researchers suspect that they have spotted testing, and that the hackers have not yet used this method yet in an actual attack.
