OpenAI has released a report describing its recent banning of ChatGPT accounts used by Chinese groups for espionage. The threat intelligence report highlights two operations. During the first operation, ChatGPT accounts were used to edit and debug code that searched for conversation on Chinese social and political topics on social media. The second operation involved using ChatGPT to generate social media content as part of a disinformation campaign.
