English rock band Radiohead was recently targeted by cyber extortionists who had stolen 18 hours of private recordings from the group’s 1997 album “OK Computer” after breaking into a digital archive belonging to frontman Thom Yorke. The hackers threatened to release the music unless the band paid a ransom of $150,000.

However, instead of paying, Radiohead decided to release the music on their Bandcamp.com artist page for free. The band is also selling an album of the recordings for £18 ($22.90, 20.20 euros), the proceedings of which will be donated to the Extinction Rebellion environmental campaign group.
