Record-Breaking 7.3 Tbps DDoS Attack Targets Hosting Provider

Cloudflare has mitigated the largest DDoS attack on record, targeting a hosting provider.

In mid-May, Cloudflare mitigated a short but intense DDoS attack that peaked at 7.3 terabits per second and targeted a single IP address across nearly 35,000 destination ports per second. Over 99% of the traffic came from UDP floods, with additional reflection and amplification methods used, sourced from 122,000 IPs across 161 countries. The company says these types of attacks increasingly target hosting services and core internet infrastructure.
