Russia-linked ransomware groups have attacked several Texas electric cooperatives.

The Russia-linked Qilin ransomware gang claims to have breached two Texas electric cooperatives. The stolen documents include incident reports, budget and insurance files, and personal information of board members and employees. Qilin has become one of the most active ransomware groups in 2025, targeting various sectors globally, including telecoms, healthcare, and manufacturing.
