The hacking group Hellcat is claiming to have breached Schneider Electric’s systems and stolen sensitive information. In response, the French industrial company has launched an investigation. The hackers claim that they breached Schneider Electric’s Jira issue tracking system. Hellcat published online that they were able to access critical data such as projects, issues, and plugins. The group says that they were able to access over 40GB of compressed data. In exchange, the group is demanding a ransom of $125,000 in baguettes. However, Hellcat says they will cut the ransom amount in half if Schneider Electric confirms the breach. The hacking group is threatening to publicize the stolen data if the company does not meet their demands.
