An advanced persistent threat (APT) group, SideWinder, is targeting maritime and logistics companies in South and Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Other targets have included nuclear power plants and nuclear energy infrastructure, telecommunication, consulting, and IT service companies. The actor has recently expanded to target diplomatic entities as well. SideWinder’s latest attack chains involve spear-phishing emails which deliver booby-trapped documents.
