PowerSchool, a California-based education technology giant, was the victim of a cyberattack in late 2024. Now, the company is notifying students and educators that their personal information was compromised in the attack. The incident occurred on December 28 in the company’s Student Information Systems (SIS) environment. No products other than PowerSchool SIS were affected in the attack. The subsequent data breach led to the leak of personal information including dates of birth, medical information, and Social Security numbers. PowerSchool has not shared information about how many individuals or schools were impacted by the breach.
