Trump fires Gen. Timothy Haugh from leadership of Cyber Command and NSA

The commander of U.S. Cyber Command and the director of the NSA, Gen. Timothy Haugh, was removed from his positions this past week on Thursday. The incident marks another high-profile firing of a senior national security official by the new administration. The reasoning behind Haugh’s firing has not yet been made clear, but followed a visit to President Trump from political activist Laura Loomer. Loomer has posted on social media that Haugh was fired for being “disloyal” to Trump. According to a defense official, CYBERCOM’s deputy commander, Army Lt. Gen. William Hartman is now in charge.
