US Water Facilities Urged to Secure Access to Internet-Exposed HMIs 

U.S. government organizations are urging water and wastewater systems companies to secure access to their systems. These systems contain internet-exposed human-machine interfaces (HMIs) which are critical to U.S. infrastructure and thus must be secured from cyberattacks. CISA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) stated that exposed HMIs in these systems could give threat actors access to valuable information.
