At a summit in Uganda, African leaders have called for the deployment of more peacekeepers in Somalia. The current international mission lead by the African Union has suffered from a lack of funding and supplies. The deployment of troops from Ethopia and Egypt has stalled due to tensions between the countries. Somalia has said that without additional supports its offensives will likely not succeed.
