Almost 700,000 displaced in Lebanon as war enters second week

Nearly 700,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon.

Escalating hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have forced nearly 700,000 people in Lebanon to flee their homes as the conflict enters its second week. Israeli airstrikes continue to hit Hezbollah‑controlled areas in Beirut and southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah has launched missiles deeper into Israel. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports that more than 400 people, including 83 children and 42 women, have been killed since the start of the fighting.
