Gunmen on motorbikes attacked the villages of Bagna and Erena in Niger state early Tuesday, with residents reporting at least 20 people killed and others missing. Police confirmed only three deaths, saying two vigilantes and a driver were among the victims. Residents said the attackers moved through the communities for hours, forcing many to flee to nearby towns.
