Two buses and two other vehicles crashed on Wednesday, killing at least 46 people.
According to police, two bus drivers going in opposite directions attempted to overtake other vehicles and crashed into each other near the town of Kiryandongo. The police originally gave a death toll of 63, but then revised their statement saying that several people were unconscious and presumed dead. Fatal road crashes are common in Uganda, as the roads are very narrow. This, however, was one of the worst accidents in recent years.
