Dozens of kidnapped Colombian soldiers released, says defense ministry

Dozens of kidnapped Colombia soldiers have been released.

Thirty-three Colombian soldiers were released after being held for three days in a remote Amazonian village controlled by rebel factions and drug traffickers, following deadly clashes with an armed group. The soldiers were initially blocked from leaving by villagers, prompting the government to label the incident a kidnapping. Negotiations led by the government, the Ombudsman’s Office, and the UN secured their release.
