Iran has threatened to suspend nuclear inspections if sanctions are restored.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran would cancel its nuclear inspection agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) if Western powers reinstate UN sanctions. The sanctions are set to return due to alleged violations of the 2015 nuclear deal. Iran insists the deal signed in Egypt remains valid only if no hostile actions, including sanctions snapback, are taken. A UN Security Council vote on delaying the sanctions is unlikely to pass.
