Iraqi oil field on fire after drone strike during attacks in Kurdish region

Unclaimed drone attack hits Sarang facility in Dohuk as Iraq signs Hamrin field agreement

Emergency responders are tackling a fire at the Sarang oil field in Iraq’s Dohuk province after a drone strike exploded at one of its production units on Tuesday morning. Operator HKN Energy Ltd. confirmed that all personnel were safe and no injuries had been reported, but suspended operations while authorities investigated the cause of the explosion and worked to contain the fire. The Kurdistan Ministry of Natural Resources condemned the act as terrorism against vital infrastructure and urged the federal government to identify and punish those responsible.
