Insurgent assault displaces over 46,000 in Cabo Delgado

Attacks by Islamic State-affiliated militants in northern Cabo Delgado province displaced more than 46,000 people over eight days, nearly 60% of them children, with no reported fatalities. The UN reported the recent wave of violence across Chiure, Ancuabe, and Muidumbe districts between July 20 and 28 prompted mass departures.
