Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he will intensify military strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, arguing the group has ignored U.S. warnings to halt attacks. Far‑right ministers in his coalition urged him to go even further, calling for renewed bombing in Beirut after Hezbollah used explosive drones against Israeli forces. The escalation comes despite a U.S.-brokered truce and ongoing negotiations involving the U.S., Israel, Lebanon, and Iran aimed at preventing a wider regional war. Netanyahu’s remarks also triggered fear in Beirut’s southern suburbs, where residents began fleeing over concerns that large‑scale strikes might resume.
