The Israeli military has begun raids in the West Bank, describing them as part of a counterterrorism operation. The raids come after Jewish extremists attacked several Palestinian villages in the West Bank on Monday night. These attacks by Jewish extremists occurred just hours after U.S. President Trump removed sanctions on far-right settler groups and dozens of Israeli individuals who had been accused of violence against Palestinians. Palestinian officials strongly criticized the removal of these sanctions as some believed it would encourage further violence.
