Tuesday’s protests turned violent after motorcycle riders accosted citizens.

Kenyan police shot an apparent bystander during protests over the killing of a blogger in custody earlier this month. According to eyewitnesses, the officer concealed his face and shot the unarmed man at close range with a shotgun. Kenya has a history of police brutality, with several activists and protesters being abducted and killed by Kenyan police during finance bill protests last year.
