Latvia’s government has collapsed following the resignation of the Prime Minister.
Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa resigned after her coalition partner, the Progressives Party, withdrew support following a controversy over stray Ukrainian drones entering Latvian territory. The defense minister, a member of that party, had already stepped down after criticism of the government’s handling of multiple drone incidents, including one that crashed at a fuel facility. President Edgars Rinkēvičs will now consult parliamentary parties to appoint a new prime minister, while Ukraine has suggested Russian electronic warfare may have diverted the drones.
