One day later, the Korean Central News Agency reported that these missiles included a new hypersonic system, and that this was meant to strengthen North Korea’s nuclear war deterrent. They also reported that two missiles were launched, accurately hitting land in the country’s northern region, and that the missiles were designed to be armed with nuclear warheads. The name of this new missile system has not been released.
