Officials have deemed it the most deadly attack on Kyiv this year.

Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said 139 people were injured in the Ukrainian capital after two rounds of direct peace talks failed to make progress on ending the war. Russia has intensified long-range bombardment and drone bombardments in recent months, and Ukraine has responded with their own domestic long-range drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is seeking to prevent Ukraine from being sidelined in international diplomacy, though it is unclear when another round of talks might take place.
