Peace talks between Congo government and M23 movement to be held in Qatar

Qatar announced resumption of peace talks between of the Democratic Republic government of Congo and M23 movement, during sessions that will be held between the two sides in Doha. QNA news agency quoted Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari, as saying in a statement at a press conference: “We received the two parties of Congo Republic and M23 movement here in Doha, to discuss implementing the agreement signed between both sides last July”. The talks touched on finding ways to monitor the ceasefire in Congo and exchange of prisoners and detainees, in addition to explore outstanding issues in coordination with U.S. and International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC).
