The Philippine President has denounced the Vice President’s threat to have him killed.

Philippine President Marcos has denounced remarks made by the Vice President. Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte said during a press conference last week that she has directed an assassin to kill the President, his wife, and the Speaker of the Congress if she was to be found dead. The comments reflect the deepening division between the President and Vice President which began over policy disagreements concerning China’s South China Sea claims. The Philippine Justice Department has begun an investigation into the comments made by the Vice President.
